It’s a good school overall. It was my first year in the school district, and my impression is that people are friendly. I was able to get a lot of friends. It can be kind of cliquey, so try to get friends as soon as possible. Academics is very competitive, with many people taking 3-4/7 advanced classes and some people are close to having a 5.0 GPA. I have a 4.25 GPA, and am ranked FIFTY out of 250-300 students. Teachers are nice, and I don’t have a bad teacher. If you’re a freshman, I recommend taking AP Human Geography with Mrs. Curry. It’s a relatively easy class if you do your work, and Mrs. Curry is a good teacher. Try and do athletics or clubs, as most students are. Student Council is an option too, but be aware that running for a high position is hard, and I recommend running for secretary, treasurer, or PTSA liaison if it’s your first year here. Overall, it’s a very good school.
Tabb high school offers an open and welcoming environment for all students, as well as makes it a priority for students to participate and enjoy the school year. There are many different varieties of clubs and sports but I have heard many complaints about the faculty and coaches involved. I have witnessed the disrespect of coaches to athletes firsthand which is why the school only gets four stars.
