Sycamore High School provided a safe environment for me to learn, and I enjoyed the vast majority of the faculty and staff. The teachers are willing to work with you and cater to your individual needs, for the most part. There are also many opportunities for dual enrollment classes. However, diversity is nonexistent, and there is an outstanding lack of culture. There are not many opportunities for different academic pathways. There are no AP, vocational, or advanced foreign language classes, and many other areas in which the academics in this school are severely lacking. There is a constant turn-over of staff, which makes it difficult for the students in those classes to learn. There is little to no communication between administration and teachers, therefore no communication between administration and students.

The teachers are the best and I'm glad to have such amazing teachers. The reason I only put 3 out of 5 is the students and board of education. The teachers don't get paid enough, the school board cast our school aside and puts all their focus and attention on cheatham county central high school, the school is barely funded and not well kept, we're over crowded and the building was built as if it were a middle school. The wiring for the wifi was done by students, the students fight constantly-2 or 3 fights a day on average- and the school board covers all this up. When the students struggle in the slightest the board blames the teachers for "not being on the required level of teaching that is expected of them".
Sycamore was overall a decent school! A big selection of Dual enrollment classes were offered. I had some of the most amazing teachers ever. I just wish Sycamore focused on better priorities than they do.
