Switzerland County Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.59 out of 5 69 reviews
My overall experience was pleasant. I meet so many friends, and always had a teacher that cared about me and my education. My coaches, in all sports, throughout my high school career always looked after me to make me the best athlete and person. Switzerland County High has overall helped me reached my full potential. However, I would personally like to change our school's policy on prom. For many years people took underclassmen to prom just for the sake of underclassmen attending prom. However, because of it just being brought to light last year, freshmen are no longer allowed to attend prom. I think prom should be for the entire student body (those eligible at least) rather than just for Juniors and Seniors. I think it should be something to look forward to for everyone.
I have been an office aid for our school for two years now. We have several students that transfer to our school and after asking why I realize how grateful I am for the school I attend. The teachers are simply that, they are teachers. They teach us things that we may or may not care to listen to, but they are so intrigued in their students. They make every possible change in their classroom that they can to help struggling students, while maintaining an advanced and fundamental classroom that will help us succeed the most when moving on to college. Our teachers never fail to give a hand to someone in need, and to just sit down and listen to us rant about our endless school drama. The four years of High School are ours. It's to help us expand our education as well as ourselves. However, I could never have grown so much and molded into a responsible young adult without the help of our staff. They do absolutely everything in their power to give us the best possible outcome, and they don't have to but they want to. Our teachers become so close, it's like watching their kids grow up and they do everything to help us succeed.
Living in a small town and going to a small school may seem smothering at times and results in needing to get away for a while, but nothing is better than our little town and even littler school. It is great to know everybody in my town, and have so many people looking out for you and helping you grow through your years in school. We have a festival called the Swiss Wine Festival, it's not much but it is the biggest thing that happens in our town. It brings a ton of people to the area which is great for the community and it brings family members and friends around that you don't get to see on a daily basis. Our school is a supportive High School that encourages their students to get out and go to events such as the festival. Our school also has amazing athletic support. The whole community comes out to the games, and our school spirit for all sports is insanely cool when it comes to games. Students get really involved in Pep Club and our Pep Block that attends all home games and majority of away games. The student body has it's drama, like any other High School, but we really come together for the support of our athletic teams.
