Throughout my experience at Sweetwater, I have mostly been exposed to the best of what the school has to offer through the AP system implemented at the school, in which most of the students enrolled in such courses are dedicated to learning. However, I would be dishonest if I didn't say that the majority of the school isn't engaged in a learning environment. From the fights that occur on and off-campus, the transaction of narcotics (and the abuse of such narcotics), to the constant ditching by a myriad of students, it shows that this school is plagued with its own troubles that will continue to exist as long as the district allows it.

I think Sweetwater is a great school in which they really try hard to include students in events and make them feel a apart of the community. What I would like to see change is the way they handle the mental health of the students. While they are trying with attempts such as Wellness Wednesdays, where tips on how to improve mental health and happiness are sent to the students via email, most students tend to ignore these emails or make fun of them. The teachers and counselors need to make better attempts on helping students with their mental health, rather than just sending a message through email. The staff should take the time to find the issues students are struggling with and figure out a solution through there.
Overall it's a good school, like every other it has its pros and cons.It has gotten better over the years. Unfortunately, when we tell others we go to this school they think we're "getto".In a sports I joined we had to behave extra good, because we already had a bad reputation because of our school.I know this isn't the schools fault but the students. The school has provided us with resources to achieve our future goals and the teachers also have a lot to give. The energy in our Assemblies is amazing and the student corp are all very friendly.
