Sussex Central High School is a very diverse and welcoming school. They have top academics and provide a well rounded education for all students that attend. Central also has great teachers as well. For the most part, all teachers are very flexible an can teach a lesson very well. However, there has been difficulty with some of the schools teachers. Very few of the teachers at Central have a hard time presenting concept. Making it harder for us, as students be able to understand and comprehend a lesson. Which always leads to frustration for both parties. Other than some minor difficulties with some teachers, Central is overall a great school. They provide a pathway for anyone. This includes the digital design, medical, art, and many more. There is always room to explore and find what you love do. Which gives students a sense of direction during and after high school. Sussex Central is a school for all!

I am a senior at Sussex central high school. Currently the building is over populated allowing no personal experiences in the building. They claim common core is getting us ready for college but it falls extremely short! I have been excepted to Liberty University and as I learn the details of my courses I am seeing just how short my education is falling to prepare me. Staff generally is friendly but with the amount of students you feel like a class assembly line.
I have mixed feelings when it comes to my experience with SCHS. These are based on certain situations, teachers, and students. Some teachers I had were absolutely amazing and I miss to this day. The curriculum was spotty in some areas. There was barely any funding for the arts and other things, most of the funds went towards new technology (that was not always needed) and sports. My main problem with this school is the counseling and how they tackle newer problems. There were a few good people in charge, however, there was a very limited ability to voice opinions that were outside of the popular opinion and there was an extremely strict dress code that was mainly directed towards girls. I do love that they took time for students to apply to colleges, FASFA, and career pathways once a year.
