Sussex Academy Reviews

Sussex Academy has been a great school for me through my middle school years and stays the same going through my high school ones, too. My school has a variety of AP's open for students to take and many clubs or sports that students can take interest in. Overall, Sussex Academy is a really good school for the Sussex County area but it is still not ranked as well as some of the New Castle County schools. I feel as though after COVID-19 the rigor has decreased somewhat, and at times, I wish tube course material would’ve challenged me more. I do believe, however, that I have opportunities to strive for more through the selection of AP and honor classes offered! I greatly adore the dual enrollment program offered and I think it is a great way for students to acclimate themselves to the college standards. All in all, I believe that the school is the right choice for me!
Sussex Academy is a great school, amazing and experienced teachers. Everyone is willing to help and take extra time with students if they ask, and very involved classrooms. The only thing is that with a new dean, scheduled have been changed and the school system has been changed frequently including new teachers yearly. It is understandable so after everything is complete the school will continue to thrive. The classes are small making it more comfortable and accessible as a student. Sports are involved with the school as well as theater and the arts. Many different clubs to join and a great community of people. Overall a beneficial high school experience involving education, sports teams, community, and social aspects.
I had a fantastic middle and high school education that fully prepared me for the workload that I would experience in college. Even though the courses were rigorous I built a community of amazing friends whom I still socialize with. I truly can say that the teachers there were not only passionate about their areas of study, they were also passionate about their students and encouraging us to be our best selfs and to put our education first.
