I came to TAVS (the online independent study program within Susan H. Nelson) from TVHS halfway through sophomore year. I am now a rising senior. Even through my year and a half in this program so far, I’ve seen tremendous growth in the school and it’s administration. It’s open 8 hours a day Tuesday - Friday for students to work and receive help in their classes. There’s MacBooks and Google Chromebooks in the lab so even owning a laptop isn’t necessary. All four teachers are full-time and are very knowledgeable in their respective fields. The math teacher, specifically, single-handedly got me through Algebra 2 with an A and did the same for my friend in AP Calculus. It has an impressive amount of AP classes available and most students are able to graduate early. The school is currently going through a multi-million dollar renovation that’s expected to be done by the fall. I’d highly recommend this school.

The school administration is very small, but very caring and sincerely interested in the success of the students. Dress codes, and bullying are nonexistent.
The school is great for students who are motivated to complete their work on their own, who want to graduate early, and who want more personal assistance from great teachers.
