Attending Sumner Hill Junior High was one of the best decisions I made concerning my education. One reason I believe so rests in the school's environment. Sumner Hill Junior High was a ninth grade school, so exclusion from other classes strengthened the ability to center one's attention on learning. The atmosphere was always positive. I could feel the passion my teachers possessed for educating. There were also assemblies held to examine the success of the student body.
Furthermore, diversity and acceptance were key values taught. Equal time was contributed to sports, activities such as band and choir, and foreign languages to give insight to various cultures. I especially appreciate the guidance from counselors who were accessible whenever I inquired about courses necessary to graduate or different studying techniques for tests. I would recommend this school to any upcoming ninth grader interested in a place where he or she will be accepted and receive quality education.

I liked most of the staff at SHJS. Many of them were pretty cool, but a few weren't really very "qualified to teach students". However, it does seem that they care more about you here, and the overall experience is not that bad
As far as health emergencies, we have trained First Aid people, all students are required to take CPR classes also.
