It isn't actually that much more HW than other middle schools, it's just a stereotype. Great School. There is a bit of HW, but don't all middle schools. It's not all education. Yeah, the teachers and administrators want you to be smart, but Summit students are good at a variety of things including sports, integrity, and kindness. This school also prepares you well for high school and college, which isn't a bad thing. Sometimes it's hard to take up a lot of activities outside Summit, but the teachers are flexible. Those who don't like this school just came in thinking they wouldn't like it, so their brains didn't let them. You can become stressed with the strive for perfection at Summit, but not if you manage your time well, and Summit allows lots of opportunities for that.
Some good teachers, but the administration was terrible and the workload was way too much to be expected of middle schoolers. I attended four years ago but that was my experience, and from what I hear from current students, not much has changed.
All of the teachers genuinely care about all of their students. They are all very smart and good at teaching. I had an amazing teacher who had a PHD and was a professor at CU but he came to Summit everyday for one class period to teach 11 students only because he enjoyed teaching us. They may assign to much homework, but the teachers care so much and everyone learns so much.
