For a public school in rural southern Missouri, Summersville really isn't so bad. I'm only comparing it to other schools in the area, however. Generally, Summersville doesn't have much interesting about it. There aren't very many opportunities and activities compared to other high schools. It's not very up to date, and the staff aren't exactly all well liked, even among other staff. It's all around a very average school. There's not much to praise about it, but it's not so bad that you can't survive going there.

Summersville High School is one of the most amazing schools to attend to. The students have very good MAP and EOC scores, and it all starts with the teachers that are at SHS. It is a small school, so everyone knows everyone, and with that, rumors are spread easily, and everyone talks; however, when someone is in a time of need, everyone lends a hand or pitches in to help. People here are so caring and it amazes me how a whole community can come together to help one another. The school is old and has needed some repairs, but they are not too bad, I would say that the school is still in pretty good shape and looks amazing for a start.
The teachers and students here at Summersville High are very friendly and helpful. I've learned many things while I've been here and it's been a great experience. Great 1:1 student teacher interactions; However, I do wish we had Honors and AP classes.
