I have enjoyed my experiences at Suffield High School. As a Senior, I am lucky enough to be Student Senate President. I am able to plan and run many events and even DJ pep rallies, and school dances. I really am fortunate to come to a great school where all of my teachers are enthusiastic about teaching us. All of my teachers want us to succeed and they truly care about us. Our building being less than 20 years old, has awesome facilities for sports, theater, and more! Our cafeteria is state of the art with great food. Our librarian is knowledgeable and there are thousands of books. Our administration is superb and connects very well with the student body. Overall, Suffield High School is a great place to get an education.

My experience at Suffield High has been enlightening. As a freshman, my experience was lackluster. I didn't participate in many of the traditions that our school holds, such as Spirit Night (where each grade performs a skit) or Volleyball Marathon (12 hours of straight volleyball). I knew going into the next years I had to do better. And I did. I made sure to involve myself in multiple clubs my school provides such as Interact, Best Buddies, Chick-fil-A leadership academy. I became a 3 season athlete and still maintain honors all throughout my highschool career.

Although my school is great, there are flaws. There is a loss in learning with the higher levels of science which poses a strain on the overall education. Additionally, there is a loss preparation from counselors about college applications and the whole process, which is worrying for high school students because most students want to go to college.
I believe that Suffield High is a quality school. However, there are some things that I find problems with. For example, there is little diversity in this school, but I think we have the space and resources to open our doors up to others. Another problem is funding. The arts barely have enough money for a budget, but there's enough funds to add yet another tennis court. I think this needs to be reevaluated, and for all programs and extra-curriculars to have more attention like athletics do. Aside from that, this school has great school spirit, and has a lovely faculty that are nice and helpful. I always feel safe at school, and have fun every day.
