Strath Haven has been a great experience thus far! As a rising Junior, I find the academics to be challenging which prepares me to be a better student. I can take advantage of over 100 student clubs ranging from Anime to Science Olympiad. They also have courses in childhood development to get an idea of what it looks like to work with children during the early development stages. I am grateful to be in this school district.
The environment is really nice. The small grade sizes really help each student get to know people. It has become a really tight-knit community with teachers and students really developing a friendship that is appropriate for their respective positions. The academics may be difficult but the students are taught to thrive under the pressure because college will be similar. Overall the school is a great place to develop and mature not only yourself but your interests as well. The clubs, sports, and other opportunities really allow people to get a clear understanding of what they want to accomplish in life.
The school itself can make many improvements in terms of mental health care and the overall well-being of its students. It’s rigorous academics are very stressful to almost all students, regardless of class level (CP, Honors, AP, etc.) However, the variety of clubs, sports and student-run groups available are really amazing opportunities. In addition, most teachers at the school truly care about the success of their students in high school and beyond. The many resources available to students help us explore possible colleges, majors, trade schools, military, and other options.
