I attended SCIS from kindergarten to 12th grade, and I loved it! The school is really small, so every student can get 1-on-1 time with each teacher. The small student body also builds a high sense of community between the students. The academics are top-notch— juniors and seniors take IB (International Baccalaureate) courses without facing the high cost, and the teachers genuinely want us to succeed. One of the most common complaints about SCIS are the lack of activities— we don’t have any sports teams, orchestras, or theater groups. However, student organizations do exist and will be growing during the next few years.
Overall, SCIS has fantastic academics and a great sense of community; the main downside is the current lack of extracurriculars.

I graduated here with IB diploma. Overall it's a great school in terms of academics. IB courses are difficult but it definitely prepares you for college (and if you score well enough on IB exams, you can skip some college classes). Admission to here is difficult, it took me for about 8 months to be enrolled from waitlist. Teachers are generally nice and are willing to help students. But some does not respect boundaries and are notoriously disrespectful (if you studied TOK in DP), you know who I am talking about. Other than that, the food is terrible, there are no meat and the food taste pretty bad. Also, the worst thing is the LOCATION. PE is very fun but there are no designated region to play sports. So we either played inside the St. Mary's Church, or outdoor parks like Fremont. Fremont park is horrendously dangerous and we played sports when tweakers were fighting and I had found heroin needles around the floor. --Ethan L.
The education aspects are great with challenging courses that prepare you for college BUT the social aspects are AWFUL I've been at this school since kindergarten and I am already in high school and through out all of my life at this school I have never had any sort of fun there are NO dances, NO fun field trips, NO mixing up classes because instead of other school that give you different co-hoarts each period you have to stay with the same people all year you get NO room to make new friends if they are not in your class. THERE ARE NO CLUBS OR SPORTS OR ANYTHING ITS ONLY WORK AND MORE WORK. The students here are so frustrated that there is nothing to do that most students just act out and start drama and most of the times when counselors try to solve problems they don't do anything and things don't change THIS NOT A SAFE SCHOOL. and don't get me started on the location ITS IN THE MIDDLE OF DOWNTOWN STOCKTON HORRIBLE PLACE FOR A SCHOOL
