My experience at Stewart Magnet Middle School was great. I learned a lot about the STEM program, engineering and science. There were many first hand experiences with field trips. There are many opportunities for growth and development in technology, science, and engineering fields. Stewart Magnet is preparing me for the world and my career by offering a diverse platform that cultivates learning.
I have just finished my three years here at Stewart Middle Magnet School. I am in the math academy where I was able to earn two high school credits. Overall I believe this school like every other school has its ups and downs. I have learned how to become independent and responsible because the teachers here give a lot of homework. Though the homework load stressed me at the time, I now am thankful for it because it prepared me for high school and even college. I also learned many social skills and public speaking skills in my classes because the teachers encourage us to go further and outside the box. I also made many friends, but like every school, I also witnessed fights and drama. To conclude, this school is a good school if you stay out of trouble and challenge yourself. I encourage those who are attending this school to step out of your box and join clubs or sports because in the long run you will meet new people and find who you are.
Went to Stewart from 2011-2013. Left 8th grade due to homophobic teachers and a principal who refused to remove a student from a class unless it was a race related issue. One time had an anxiety attack in class administration flooded the room and then later berated me for having one. Tried to come out as trans to a counselor and was told I was being ridiculous (I have now been out for 5 years, lol) The best thing about the school was Mr. Gibbs. What a cool guy. Good science programs in general. Mr. Reese was also a great civics teacher, who I had switched into after finally being able to leave the homophobic teacher’s class.
