Great teachers, and an really friendly environment to learn, slot of classes to choose from! However some of the students can de hard to get along with.
Over all being a student at sterling has its ups and downs like most schools. School is what you make of it. As a junior I spend half of my time at NJC the local junior college which is a great opportunity! My high school classes for the most part are jokes. The kids who try hard are overlooked and if you don’t have a name, forget it. AP doesn’t exist even if they are claimed to be an AP course it isn’t. There are a few teachers that are absolutely amazing and in the end are over looked. One teacher in particular has made a lasting impact on myself. Of course there are a few rotten apples but that happens everywhere. I sadly had been driven away from theater and the program is dying for many reason. I have learned to make the best of everything though. The counselors are great and have always been willing to work with me! When going to school here keep your mind open and make the best of it. There are opportunities such as college classes that not everyone has!
I’ve had good and bad experiences at Sterling. A few teachers just shouldn’t stay they should move on. Yet some do really care about you. One teacher has made a lasting impact on me and I couldn’t thank her enough! My counselors have always been easy to work with. The AP classes are jokes but you have the chance to go over to the college and work over there. The theater program sucks, it’s a true joke. I would love to see that change and see a complete 180° for the better. The school is what you make of it truly. So if you want a good experience then make it, if not it will be terrible. There are many opportunities you just have to take advantage of them.
