The school is pretty small, which is good for people who want one-on-one time with their teachers. Everyone is really supportive and always there when you need them. The teachers there feel more like friends and family rather than people who just want to get paid and get their day over with. Because our school is fairly new, we do not have access to resources other schools do have. I would like to have more classes to choose from.

STEM has a kind, welcoming environment towards the families and students that attend there. Being a former student and currently enrolled in their high school, I've experienced that there is always an opportunity for families to be involved in the school and become more involved in their students' lives and education through parent workshops. It's safe, and practically bully free. Students are given many opportunities to succeed, focusing on critical thought, trying to focus more on open-ended questions instead of multiple choice. Students are able to communicate thoroughly with teachers. There are soccer teams and basketball teams for both genders, and track and field as well as cross country. However, there is no football team, nor is there a wrestling team yet. It is one of the most diverse schools in Nashville. It has many Hispanic, Kurdish, Ethiopian, and Egyptian students. Overall, one of the best schools in Nashville for allowing less privileged kids to succeed.
My time in STEM Prep Academy, as a middle school student from 5th-8th grade, and now a freshman, was hard due to my behavior, it did change me. Not in the deepsense but my bad behaviors ended up changing greatly and I ended up focusing on my academics much more. I went from being that kid who was in detention a lot, to one of the leaders in school. I say one of the leaders because this school has ended up creating a lot of leaders in this school community. The teachers, are kind and driven and actually teach. The facilities are old and the sports programs are extremely lacking. The ones that are available (Soccer, basketball track, etc) are led by people who not only care about your sports performance, but they also care about you as a person and your academic performance. This school is very diverse and there are many cultures present. The food is typical school food and there isn't not much to say about that.
