Our robust program includes Dual Enrollment college classes with our partners at Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC), AP courses, performing arts, competitive CIF sports teams, an enriching after-school program for students, and opportunities to travel outside of Los Angeles and California for students to experience the world beyond our classrooms.

Life Experience Lessons (LELs) have been a hallmark of Bright Star’s program since our founding. We believe that it is crucial that students be offered opportunities to enhance their education with real-life experiences if they are going to succeed in life outside the classroom. Throughout my entire time at Stella High Charter Academy, there have been pros and many cons during my overall experience. Positively speaking, the school does its best to make sure all students feel welcome and are able to strive. On top of that, they provide many college readiness resources such as college workshops and college tours. As well as providing internship and scholarship opportunities for juniors and seniors. Now from a critical perspective, the school has recently been having a lack of academics; more specifically, they lack variety when it comes to their elective and Advanced Placement courses. Additionally, the school has been focusing too much on the personal lives of students and less of their academic ones. Through the years they have been incorporating in acknowledging student's mental health but have slowly been focusing less on their academic ability. I would want to see this school find a balance between the mental health of students and their academic potential.

I have been part of Bright Star Schools since day one ..from my sister being one of the first staff hired, to my cousins and brother working for Bright Star Schools. I knew since I was pregnant with my kids that's the school they were going from 5th grade til now I have my oldest as a senior and my daughter as a junior! I am pleased... Bright Star feels like home!

When I first join BSSCA back in 2019 I was in freshmen year of high school. I was nervous and scared because I thought high school was going to hard and I felt that I wasn’t going to make it. I was very wrong at the end, I met new people and new friends. I remember have trouble in one class and I would ask a teacher for help and they would gladly use up their time to help ensure I pass their class. The teacher here are very helpful and kind, not only are they good teachers they’re good friends to talk to I very much recommend for anyone to enroll their child into this school. If you happen to feel down there is always someone there to talk too in times of need. They also do their best for kid to go on field trips like Dav n busters, Six Flags and even Disney Land! tThe best part about it is they pay for all of it. So you don’t need to have money to go on theses amazing Field Trips. What if I don’t fit in? Don’t worry at BSSCA every is family
