Been here for 2 years and have been very involved in the school. I think the best thing about Steele is the community. Steele does not revolve around cliques, and it is overall very welcoming. The teachers are great, I have not yet had a bad teacher that hasn't fulfilled their job of teaching until the student understands. Other activities like SCHS Broadcast, the events at school during lunch (pre-COVID), and spirit weeks keeps up a very uplifting and proud environment, where students are excited to call themselves a Cougar. Sports are also strong, especially for cross country and track and field because of the location and amazing coaches, which have led Steele Canyon to an impressive record in both sports. I have yet to see a sport area that Steele lacks in. The location of Steele is safe and uplifting because our campus is surrounded by open and more rural areas. Overall, 5/5 school, I have had great memories here.
It is a very diverse and welcoming school with an amazing staff that aims to create a welcoming environment for students fo all backgrounds
Steele Canyon is an extremely welcoming environment. All the staff members are so kind and willing to help at any given time. They always have a smile on their faces and are so passionate about their jobs. The teachers love to interact with their students and get to know them better, not only to build a connection but to also help cater the students needs. As for the students upper class men have always been willing to help out the lower grades. As an upper class men myself I can say, my past few year at Steele, have been nothing but fun and excitement. I love meeting all the new people, especially through clubs and sports. It is an amazing feeling to become friends with such great people who share the same interests. Overall I have had an amazing experience at Steele Canyon, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a high school to go to!
As a student the school is very unaccepting of new people and the administration only caters toward deemed ‘popular’. But other than the demographics of the school, the school is okay academic wise.
Steele Canyon has a very strong sense of community and pride. The teachers and staff are all very helpful, caring, and dedicated to their jobs. There are strong sports programs and extracurriculars at the school. It also feels to be a very safe environment
the schools education is great. It gives you an idea of what collage will be like. It is a college prep school, so there are semesters and an 1 1/2 hour classes and lots of work to do constantly. there academic layout really prepares you for life outside of high school.
Steele was a very fun experience for me with a lot of great teachers among the AP staff and to this day are some of my favorites. The sports teams are very dedicated and work very hard to be the best they can. The clubs for the most part are really fun and just full of people that share the same interests and want to have a good time.
My experience at Steele Canyon High School was an amazing one. The teachers are very friendly, accepting, and helpful. All members of the staff are very supportive and are interested in each and every student. The students population is very diverse, which can make finding a group of friends easy. There are also many clubs to go into and meet new people. If I could improve one thing, it would just be updating some of the schools buildings/utilities such as the bathrooms.
Steele Canyon was a great experience for me. I was able to join many clubs and feel part of a community. Academically my experience was great too and I had the opportunity to take many advanced classes that helped me grow.
My complaint with the school was during the time that other schools in the nearby area were reopening during covid-19 Steele canyon decided to stay distance learning. They chose to do this regardless of the fact that more than half of the students said that they would like to go back on the schools survey.
I began attending Steele Canyon High School my sophomore year. I transferred from a different high school that I wasn't very comfortable at. At Steele I felt like the teachers were ready to help their students do well in their class and I noticed a lot more school spirit than my previous high school which made going to school more enjoyable and welcoming. My favorite part of the education provided from Steele is the 2-term system. 2 terms makes it so much easier to complete classes without getting distracted which is very easy to do in high school. I would recommend this high school to all incoming freshman solely because of the 2-term system. I enjoyed having teachers who clearly dedicated a lot of time into their classwork and projects. I have really enjoyed my time at Steele Canyon and have minor complaints. One of my sillier complaints is the traffic everyday. I also notice the school could probably be more diverse.
Steele Canyon fosters a really cheerful and spirited environment, and the dedication and care shown by the teachers is really encouraging for myself and other students. The academic requirements and preparations needed for graduation are set higher than most other schools due to the school's emphasis on college readiness, so students graduate feeling well-equipped.
Steele Caynon is a good school overall. I like the way they format the scheduling. Its a quarter system. You get 4 different classes each term. With the online learning, they have adapted well and have been understanding of different situations at home, both the students mental health and home environment. They are not the best at listening to their minority students, if you're not cisgender, straight and/or white, when it comes to harassment they've experienced between other students or staff sometimes. They are slowly getting better but they have a long way to go before they start to help their minority groups with oppression, racism and lgbt-phobia. Other than that, the school is nice.
Most teachers at Steele Canyon are great and really care about you and want you to do your best. The environment at Steele Canyon among the students is very inclusive and there is little to no drama. I would recommend this school to any student who is looking for a high school that not only does great academic wise but also that is looking for a great overall high school experience.
This high school prepares all student for University level. I once worked here and my children attended this school. Now my granddaughter is at this school starting her Junior year. Her goals are to attend Sanford University in Palo Alto, Ca.
Steele Canyon High School is a diverse and inclusive environment. The administration goes out of their way to make all students feel welcomed and safe. My overall experience has been one I will forever be grateful for, so many opportunities have been available to me by being recognized from the teachers, who taught me lessons that go far beyond just the classroom doors. In conclusion, if you are hesitant on which high school to choice, let me save you some time... Steele Canyon!! You won't regret.
I attended this school for three years and enjoyed every year of it. Some days can be challenging as classes run over one hour in length. I would send my future children here as I felt I obtained a decent education and was respected by teachers.
