I couldn't be happier with my decision to send my two children to SJA. I wanted my children to have the opportunity to experience a high level of quality education. Being a former student, I can attest SJA prepares kids not only for high school, but life beyond. It is a great school that asks a lot of the students, but my kids have received so much more in return.
With this year being challenging in many ways, SJA has been adaptable and the teachers have been excellent in meeting kids where they are. SJA is truly a community where our family has been surrounded by support.

As noted in the other reviews, the academic rigor in the school is very high. Teachers are encouraged to push students past there comfort levels and challenge them individually. It’s also true that kids and parents can feel overwhelmed by the workload. I have two children at the school currently and found that they are held to a standard and excuses aren’t accepted. Many parents may see this as a negative but I see the positive in teaching kids that learning is hard work, just like work is for adults.
If you do not want your kids challenged, don’t send them here. If you don’t want to be actively involved in your kids education, don’t send them here. If you want your kids to learn how to advocate for themselves, push themselves, and reach their full potential then send them to SJA.
The teachers and administration work hard every day to provide a safe and challenging environment for the students to excel.

I'm a graduate of this school, which I went to from Kindergarten to 8th grade. This is years ago. As the grades went up, my experiences worsened. Teachers started to insult the children more, and complement them less. If you were excelling, you got pushed with tougher classes, but you'll never get that opportunity if you have any hobbies. I recall staying up until one in the morning working on assignments because the workload was unreasonable. They forced you only to write in cursive, making you almost forget print, and never practically got you ready for high school or college. The best thing about that is that assignments always seemed like a breeze after that. That said, they also work the girls to clean pretty much the whole school while the boys lifted everything heavy to get ready for some kind of vacation. That's pretty much child labor. Avoid this school at all costs. They will make your child hate themselves because they are told they are worthless unless they are gifted.
