My school experience was overall excellent! The teachers did their jobs efficiently, and most of the teachers viewed students as people and not numbers.
I have loved my time at Starrs Mill! All the staff and teachers are excellent, they have drive to teach and are incredibly encouraging. Everyone there wants nothing but the best for each of the students, and makes the school such a welcoming environment.
In my opinion, Starr's Mill is overall the best option for students in Fayette County and offers opportunities for students to explore future careers not offered at other institutions. However, some decisions made by the administration have been questionable. Case and point: the backpack dilemma. In 2019, the school started to require that students use their lockers and not be able to walk around with their backpacks. They claimed that it was for "safety" but Starr's Mill is in an area where that shouldn't be a concern, but that's not the main issue. The main issue with this is that the way the school is set up makes having to go to your locker every other period EXTREMELY inconvenient. You may have a first and second period in the same hall and the have to go all the way to your locker, get what you need and run to the other side of the school just to make it to class on time.
