My overall experience not including band was basic. What made Starkville High School a great experience for me was being involved in the band program! I enjoyed being in the most diverse group in the entire school. This program was a group of students that made beautiful musical pieces and had a comfortable family feel. This program made me push myself to be better than myself. Especially, the head band director Mr. Sullivan. He continued to push me to be my best even when i didn’t want to be. He cares so much about each and every one of his students and that makes him different. Other than band, most of my teachers were very helpful to me and made me a better student. However, Starkville High does a very poor job in helping us with things such as college choices and scholarship opportunities.
