It prepared me way better than the public schools would have- when I transferred to a public school in 6th grade, I was a full year ahead of my classmates in what I had learned. The teachers always had the students in mind and the small class sizes help students to get help when they need it.
One criticism I have is that my parents pushed for me to get accelerated classes and teachers weren't very helpful. I understand that they have a lot on their plates, but not much is done for students ready to go beyond the typical learning setting.
