I loved my time at St. Stephen's. The teachers are exceptional and the lack of AP classes means that they don't just teach to the exams but what is most interesting to them -- which usually translates into much more interesting class time! I felt like I was more prepared than most of my college peers (at an elite school nonetheless!) -- my writing was better, I was better at time-management. The only thing I would change is that at the time the student body was not especially active in clubs/non-sport activities, however I think this is slowly changing.

This is an incredibly special school. The campus is huge and gorgeous sitting on top of a hill and overlooking the Texas hill country and Colorado River. Academics are extremely rigorous and tough, but the level of teaching is fantastic. The school's biggest strength is its teachers, who are passionate about their fields and great at teaching what they know. Because of the small class sizes and overall school size, students get to develop close relationships with their teachers, which fosters a great sense of community and augments the entire learning experience.
A fantastic academic school, and relatively diverse for the price range and location within Austin. However, due to its small size, it offers relatively few social opportunities unless you're ultra-preppy. Sports are hit-or-miss. Fantastic teachers, with one or two exceptions. I attended all 7 years, and never had any serious problems with my teachers.
