From St. Stephen's Episcopal School

St. Stephen’s Episcopal School is a pioneering coeducational school serving nearly 700 boarding and day students in grades 6 through 12. With students representing 27 Texas cities, 13 states and 17 countries, we are a diverse, inclusive and supportive community that fosters healthy, balanced lifestyles in our students while preparing them for success in college and beyond.

Since our founding in 1950 by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, we have provided a rigorous college preparatory curriculum within a balanced program of academics, athletics and the arts. Service learning activities, outdoor education and adventures, and study abroad programs allow students to connect what they learn in class to the surrounding community and broader world.

St. Stephen’s offers three special programs: Tennis Academy, Soccer Academy and Theatre Focus Program. These combine rigorous college preparatory academics with highly specialized training/instruction delivered by seasoned professionals.

Projects in Science and Technology

academic spotlight

In the St. Stephen’s “Projects in Science and Technology” course, students research, build and document a project of their own choosing. The overarching goal for the year-long endeavor is for each student to make a working prototype of their chosen project. As an example, Max, a member of the Class of 2021, elected to build a remote-controlled rover similar to those used by NASA on Mars.
