School is a vibrant learning environment in both scholastic and social arenas. The course curriculum is challenging and offers the opportunity to learn based not only on personal abilities but how much time the student wishes to invest in his own success. There are ample opportunities for personal instruction and teachers are more than willing to give help when solicited. The spiritual development is the cornerstone to learning right from wrong and how to deal with those trying issues facing the youth of today. The athletic programs try to develop the student to maximize his potential - whatever that may be. The Rita experience is a launching pad that truly prepares the kids for the challenges of life after High School. Of all the choices in the area, St. Rita is, by far, the best developmental opportunity for boys on the south side of Chicago. Both of my sons went here and both are Rita success stories!
Teaching at St. Rita has been an excellent experience. There are many aspects that make my teaching a growing opportunity. First, teacher retention: experienced teachers make it possible for teachers to keep the learning environment active, students know their expectations and I felt a lot of support from other teachers during my first year. Second, values: the Augustian values generate the desire to learn in our students and they are continuously looking to make themselves better. Finally, all students are treated equally with respect; teachers are always looking for the best way that each student can learn and improve their own system. Students are daily encouraged to find their own path and project themselves positively in their future.
St. Rita High School has been a mainstay of traditional catholic education for over 100 years. One of the southwest sides leading academic and athletic institutions, St. Rita has become a model for all schools public and private. With a 100 percent graduation rate, the school prides itself on academic excellence, sending over 90 percent of graduates onto four year universities. A diverse campus with an inclusive learning environment, St. Rita strives to provide on providing academic programs to challenge the most gifted, while ensuring students who need academic help are looked after. There are a plethora of athletics and club activities, which cater to all types of interests. Overall, I would recommend St. Rita to anyone interested in an all male catholic high school.
