There are many things to love and dislike about this school as with any other. Among the benefits of attending St. Pete High are the many programs that it offers its students. Whether its AP, IB, Dual Enrollment, Traditional, Construction, or Management, there is a program out there for students to explore. From experience, both the AP and IB curriculums are challenging and help students understand their academic potential. Tradition is also important: Interschool rivalries, myths about ghosts, and the split courtyards for lunch are somethings I will miss going off into college. Teachers aren't scary either. I am never afraid to ask them for tutoring or help outside of school if im ever struggling. They are there to help you succeed!

I have had a great time at SPHS! I’m in the IB program, which separates our class largely from the traditional class. It’s likely my view on the school could be different from one in traditional/AP courses but I tried to take into account what I know. The IB program has great teachers and curriculum, but it would be better if it also included a musical or artistic aspect (as in teaching more artistic IB courses).
I've been at St. Petersburg High School for almost four complete years now. I am now a senior, and only have two more months to spend time with my amazing friends, teachers, and clubs! SPHS has really grown on me over the years. The staff is so loving and kind...I've gotten along with every single one of my teachers since freshman year! I've been lifelong friends and I've also made some of the best memories of my life. I take APs and Honors classes which have helped me to strive to get a weighted GPA of 3.9. My math skills were awful in middle school, and now I'm making A's! My teachers are not only helping me academically, but they have helped me grow into an independent, smart woman.
