I was at St. Pete High for my entire high school career. I loved the school spirit, the togetherness of the students, the many clubs that students had created, and the events the school would host to even further boost the Green Devil spirit. There were also some great teachers that pushed me to better myself in all I was doing.
With that said, I will have to warn future students... DO NOT JOIN THE IB PROGRAM!! That is my one biggest regret from attending St. Pete high. They flash the IB program as something big and important that will completely set you up for the college experience. IT DOES NOT!! All it is is a huge load of work that will leave you missing out on everything else about your life. Your social life is dedicated to academics. Your extracurricular time is dedicated to academics. Everything is dedicated to academics. Please. Save yourself and don't join the IB program. SPHS has a lot more to offer than that program alone.

Enjoyed going to St. Petersburg High, the programs were overall very good and there are many activities, clubs, and courses that students can take to enjoy their high school career!
For a public high school, I had an overall positive experience. The beautiful campus and supportive teachers helped make a positive impact. That being said, I think one of the main things to be changed is the bell schedule. For one, students have to wake up and be prepared too early for our minds to function at our best capacity. Secondly, the schedule should go back to having block periods. I found that in my freshmen year, my block schedule allowed me to manage my time more effectively.
