8th Grade Chapel Talks

Chapel Talks are a beloved tradition & capstone experience in 8th Grade. Students share lessons from their lives & inspire their schoolmates. Their wisdom & vulnerability has the effect of strong community building & creates empathy, normalizing experiences like having a learning difference. Students work closely with our Chaplain to write, devise, & deliver a thoughtful talk with confidence.

We have attended St Matthews for the last two years (PK) and have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience. The school truly takes a holistic learning approach when educating, developing and nurturing their students and parents. We feel blessed to be able to give our child this opportunity and exposure. In addition the campus culture has been supportive and inclusive as we get to know families along our journey. Truly a special place!

Our son attended St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School for middle school and had an amazing experience. St. Matt’s provided a warm and nurturing environment, while offering challenging coursework and opportunities to stretch academically and personally. We were amazed how well his teachers knew him and the confidence it gave him throughout his 3 years. Extra-curriculars are inclusive of all skill levels and kids are appreciated for their individual strengths. If you are looking for a middle school that provides strong academics with a focus on kindness and respect, St. Matt’s is a great option. We know our son is well-prepared for high school.
This is our second full year at St. Matthew's and we now have 2 kids in the lower school. Our experience to date has been nothing short of exceptional across nearly every measure. We're early in our kids educational journey but to say they come home from school everyday excited about their teachers, their classmates, the learning process and the school community as a whole is a vast understatement. We see the impact the school and the school community is having on them on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. They are challenged and supported in the classroom and, as important, they are acquiring the skills and tools necessary to mature and grow into thoughtful, curious, engaged, kind and empathetic young people. This is why we chose St. Matthew's and the school (the teachers, administrators and other faculty) is delivering on this promise every day. We feel extraordinarily fortunate and grateful to be part of this special St. Matthew's community.
