St. Mary's has been an overall amazing experience. The school is filled with the most qualified educators along with an intense course rigor. There are tons of different ways for students to be supported academically as they adjust to the class load and the challenges which come along with it. Teachers offer study session, Nation Honor Society students offer to tutor, as well as a learning specialist located in the schools learning center. St. Mary's prepares students inside the classroom for success in the real world. There is an amazing group of students there who work to motivate, support and love each other, it is a true sisterhood. The school is very politically active as many students are aware and vocal about current events. These conversations are fostered by teachers and supported. The only problem though is the student body as a whole is very liberal, making it harder for students with differing opinions to share without feeling isolated or ashamed.

SMA was the greatest decision I ever made. I love the environment, the teachers are amazing, and there is so much school pride. SMA offers so much assistance in every aspect of the college process, and just getting through the tough rigorous class they have to offer. We have a strong athletics program, science, robotics, mock trial, model UN, the list goes on. Other positives about SMA is the all-girls environments, the push for student body leadership opportunities for everyone, our downtown location, the plethora of food options, and the many retreats and out of school activities. As a high school senior, I can not believe my time here is coming to a close. I'm going to miss this school more than words could ever describe, and I can not wait for our reunion. The sisterhood here is stronger than any other school I have attended or visited. SMA is truly the best. Go blues!
I have enjoyed my classmates and liked most of my teachers, however I am completely disillusioned with (most of) the administration. They are inaccessible and do little to manage the consistent quality of teachers and coaches that I would expect for the cost of $15,000/year. I have had some coaches I have found very helpful and nurturing while others seem only to be in the game for their own ego and pressure students unhealthily to perform even though the school places absolutely no priority on sports. The downtown location is both a blessing and a curse. Sports teams have to bus to practice locations, which adds quite a bit of time onto practice. At the same time, it is a good experience for many to be downtown and experience city life. Additionally, the school runs quite a marketing scheme. Don't fall for it
