Amazing school!! Very loving and you become a part of the family! They have events that are great for all ages! It’s a very nice school! The diversity is good considering where the location is! Longmeadow is not diverse at all but St Mary’s is for sure!
Saint Mary's Academy is a relatively small school (my graduating class being only 76 kids). The combination of the size and it's pre-K through 8th grade organization mean that the faculty become familiar with all the students. The student nurse during my years was nice but only as helpful as an school nurse can be- mostly dispensing motrin, bandaids, ice packs and calls home for more severe cases. I always felt that the school was extremely safe and sanitary during my years there. The health classes were on the lacking side but any teacher was always there to answer questions.
Saint Mary's was an experience unlike many public schools. The close-knit community was a nurturing and embracing environment. Having such small class sizes taught problem solving and common courtesy as well as created academic competition and motivation. The junior high instills a work ethic and responsibility unlike any other and values so called "geeky" skills. It is fantastic in terms of preparation for high school although I would suggest being involved in outside activities to gain other social skills and friend groups.
