An Ethos of Problem-Solving

St. Mary's Academy students are taught how to think rather than what to think. Teaching strategies and curriculum challenge students to problem solve, collaborate and innovate. Design thinking is encouraged in every Division classroom and in inspiration/STEAM spaces.

St. Mary’s is the best school in Denver! I love going there so much! I started off my high school experience at a different high school in Denver and it wasn’t great and SMA welcomed me with open arms. At SMA every girl is empowered to be the best version of themselves. I started at SMA my junior year and the academics were excellent and I got all the support I needed from the teachers and staff! I have never felt more like myself than when I am at SMA and I am so beyond blessed to call SMA my home! The faculty and staff at SMA work tirelessly to make SMA a safe and strong academic community and they succeed at doing so. The girls here are truly special and lift everyone up. I have never encountered a mean girl at SMA and that is a very rare thing in high school! I am very proud to say I go to SMA and if you have a daughter I would highly recommend sending her to SMA! It truly is the best school ever! Go wildcats!

The truest thing about St. Mary’s Academy is that they are exactly who they claim to be as educators and advocates for my daughter. The warmth and care they profess to have for every child were truly obvious from our first interaction with the school and, perhaps more telling, long after. A long-standing and established academy, St. Mary’s is “on top of their game” with a clear and logical balance between the best practices of rigorous academics and devoted attention to instilling Loretto values in their students. One can see and feel the impact of the seriousness with which everyone at St. Mary’s Academy takes these values. Finally, the camaraderie among the students, and the length of service of the staff and teachers are two more things that point to St. Mary’s Academy being a truly fine institution
My child has attended SMA for 4years and we have both been very satisfied. Everything about SMA makes us happy. They have a wonderful staff who I truly feel like they care about my child and I. I have never been part of a community where I feel so welcomed. Sending my child to school everyday I feel like he is in the best hands possible. I know he is learning a lot, not only academics but also how to be a good person through community, justice, and respect. The leadership is outstanding at SMA, they are learning just like the children while we all are adjusting during the pandemic. They have learned to work around the challenges the pandemic has thrown at us all. They have made the classroom a safe learning environment for the students and staff. Staff has also been more then prepared to switch to virtual learning, making sure our students are still learning just as much from home. I am happy that our journey has led us to ST. Mary's Academy.
