St. Mary gave me the opportunity to grow in my faith and taught me the valuable lessons of continuing my education, long after I graduated from high school. It gave me the keys of knowledge, perservance, and understanding which has opened up many doors in my life. But most important of all was the incorporation of daily faith in school. At the time, I was able to work at St. Mary to pay a portion my school tuition as the parish paid the remainder. My only other choice (the easier route), was to go to public school...I chose to go to St. Mary's even though I knew I would have to work so I could have a Catholic education. This is a choice I have never regretted!
At St. Mary, I got to experience an education that not many do. My graduating class consists of only 22. All 21 of the others in my class have been in my school since middle school or earlier, and they have all become my brothers and sisters. I have learned how to resolve issues within small groups, become close to adults working in my school, and have the opportunity for one on one, individualized education. Due to the size of St. Mary, I got to participate in 3 varsity sports, as well as many clubs and school wide organizations. Opportunity is a huge benefit of a school this size. St. Mary is a Catholic school, so while learning and participating in extra curricular activities, I have gotten to grow and experience my faith. Some do not enjoy the environment of such a small school, but I would not trade my experience for the world.
At St. Mary you get to experience what public schools don't have. You are able to practice your religious faith and learn more about how you can become closer to God. I would say my experience here was amazing, because I was able to learn more about our church history. This school gives great opportunities for all students. I wouldn't want to change anything about this school, because St. Mary feels like a family and that's rare for all students to feel anywhere else.
