St. Martin's is a small, based family-oriented community. The average student teacher ratio is excellent. The academics are rigorous and challenging which prepares the students for college and the future. It has a state-of-the-art theatre program, green room, and science and technology program. They instill family involvement; all grade levels are encouraged to interact with one another along with participate in school and non-school related community service activities.
I love St. Martin’s! I transferred to St. Martin’s my junior year and I was blown away. This school is so open and I love that everyone has a voice. The grades are small compared to other high-schools but nothing can compare to the relationships you form. With 54 kids in my grade I am happy to say we are our own little family. Three years ago I would have never imagined myself playing a school sport. Junior year (my first year attending St. Martin’s) I joined the tennis team, and senior year I am now playing tennis and soccer! The kids and teachers at my school do not know how to be judgmental. We all have so much fun participating in school activities because no one is scared of being embarrassed. I love my school and I am excited for the future it has prepared me for.
It is a good school if you're looking for something smaller. The teachers are amiable and push the students. Also, it is similar to being a part of a family since the class sizes or so small. The only thing is being in Louisianna; it matters greatly where you attend high school, so just think twice about this when choosing the high school or even school.
