I joined the St. Lukes teaching staff last year. To say that I was shocked is an understatement, but I was shocked in a great way! I was welcomed with opened arms by the faculty, students, and parents at St. Lukes. I immediately knew that I had stumbled upon something fantastic! I am still astonished at how professional the students are. By that, I mean that they are polished, dedicated learners who take on personal responsibility for their own learning. They are committed to growing themselves academically, but they are also committed to their extracurricular activities and service organizations. The students body is well-balanced. Each student is encouraged to participate in a variety of activities, including sports, theater, art, music, and leadership organizations. For this reason, St. Lukes is producing some of the most outstanding students in the State of Alabama.
We feel that our children are getting the best college preparatory education while also being in a small, nurturing environment with endless opportunities. We feel that they get more opportunities in a small environment, which was an important factor in making our decision. St. Luke's has only had 8 graduating classes (but opened since 1961). With all of the successes that the school has already had, you would never guess they have only graduated 8 classes. It's very impressive!
My son is in 3rd grade, and has been here since K4. We have loved the community at this school so much- there is a wide range of demographics in the families that are part of SLES, and some really great kids to boot. The small size has really helped shape the amazing kid my son is growing into, and I can't wait to bring my daughter here next year. At SLES, you receive a private school education in a private school setting with a wide range and diversity or students and faculty- it is truly a hidden gem in Mobile, AL!
