I liked going to Saint Louis Park High School. It has many unique students, there's no place like it. There are large Muslim and Jewish populations and many different clubs. There's a GSA, an art club. The people are amazing, and are all very kind. The German class gets small Senior year but the students who stay are lovely. The students at Saint Louis Park High make everything worth it.
On the other end of things, the school is constantly under construction and at times it feels like the administration mainly cares about sports. The school board took too many years to pass a policy to protect Trans students but it has been passed, thanks to alumni Elise Bargman and Madame Sweeney. The school is steeped with tradition, senior pranks, school musicals (Legally Blonde!), and painting the senior wall! The nurse and the janitors are overworked but they are lovely people. The art teachers pay for school art supplies with their own money.

St. Louis Park High School does a great job with its advanced classes - all of the ones I took had wonderful teachers who really cared about seeing you succeed and challenge yourself. However, they push the IB Diploma Program (and IB in general) far too hard. It's not for everyone, and you're doing a disservice to your students by not giving them the option to take AP versions of more classes, or providing adequate information about PSEO. The counselors are all lovely, but the required advisory "college planning" is a complete joke. I never took standard levels of core classes, but from friends I've heard that the school doesn't put nearly as much effort into providing solid teachers and curriculum for them as they do the advanced classes. I did PSEO junior and senior year, but those were just my observations from my first two years at SLP.
I am currently a senior at SLP High School, and overall, I've had a really good experience! I took a lot of great classes, a few of which were AP or IB, I've had a lot of great teachers, most of which will not only help you if you're stuck, but also love to get to know you as a person, and there are a lot of fun electives in art, marketing, music, and language (I've been taking French since middle school, and I love it)! The district itself is very diverse, and the vast majority accepts anyone, regardless of who they are! I've also made a TON of friends, especially in theater, which was my favorite part of high school, thus far! The only things I didn't like about it, were that a lot of people like the same stupid trends and aren't open to anything new, most of the cafeteria food is gross, and there were a few teachers I've had that lacked experience, and didn't know what they were doing. Besides that, I love SLP, and I'll never forget the memories I've made, throughout my time here!
