St. Lawrence Seminary is a school unlike any other. It is one of the few remaining minor seminaries in the United States, but that is not what makes it special. St. Lawrence gathers students from all over the world: from America to South Korea, to Vietnam, and even Saudi Arabia. You will find students here that would never have met each other anywhere else. This diversity brings a special atmosphere into existence that is found only at St. Lawrence. The classes are small, only about 50 on average, so you really get to know and bond with your classmates and the other classes. They say that Freshman year the students arrive as strangers, but by the end, they leave as brothers. St. Lawrence brings all of us together, no matter our race or social background, and even after we have graduated and moved on with our lives, I know we will still hold dear the years we spent together on the hill of happiness.
I love it here, but when all three of the classes that have a certain teacher complain about the way the teacher does things, and NOTHING happens, that says something. When the food is sub-par because the kitchen staff don't have the money for anything other than scraps due to St. Lawrence's 50K a year spending on VPN blockers that don't work, that says something. When the school doesn't bother to take into account learning disabilities, and the teachers just say "do better" that says something. It says "we don't care". Honestly, the only thing good about this place is the bond you form with your classmates.
Saint Lawrence has given me an experience that can probably not be equaled by any other school. In this boarding school, you get to know your classmates really well, forming bonds that can last for a lifetime. This school also teaches you more than just academics, bringing lifestyles and social skills as part of the curriculum.
