I feel like St. Joseph High School is a really good school. The classes are very advanced, and they always challenge me. All of the teachers genuinely want to see all the students succeed, and they push us really hard. I feel that I've made great strides in my writing because of my honors English teacher. The school's environment is also great. It's a very small school, meaning everyone knows everyone. Everyone is nice to everyone, even if they aren't necessarily friends. The teachers and the people in the school make coming to school enjoyable for me. Instead of dreading everyday, I'm pretty excited to go in.
I have been attending St. Joseph for the past four years. I am currently a senior about to graduate in May. Overall, I have appreciated my time at St. Joe greatly. The teaching staff here is very cooperative, and they continue to provide us a good education. Many of the faculty support us not only in our education, but in our outside activities as well such as sports. even past faculty have. The school is very welcoming, with a diverse attendance. If I had to change one thing about St. Joe, it would be our numbers. Many of our athletics have digressed due to issues with Covid and our small student body. I think currently we sit around 80 students in total, and my graduating class is around 20-25. A sport I have played since childhood diminished after my freshman year. I won't have the opportunity to play again due to the unfortunate lack of students. My experience at St. Joe has remained positive throughout my time here, and I appreciate everything that the faculty has done for us.
I believe the best parts about St. Joseph are the connections I have formed with teachers. With small class sizes, I have gotten to know and work well with many of my teachers. Not only does this encourage me to want to learn, but also helps me further my education. I feel comfortable asking for help, as well as communicating what I need to succeed in each class to my teacher. St. Joseph also offers a large variety of sports and clubs for such a small student body population. Teachers also step up to the plate and almost every teacher helps to run at least one club or sport.
The place I believe St. Joseph is lacking most is in communication. More often than not, I see plans and events fall through, as well as a lack of communication between administration, teachers, students, and parents. This creates problems that could have been easily avoided.
