St. Johnsbury Academy is, by far, the best independent high school in Vermont. Their academics programs are superior, with elective programs in foreign language, visual arts, performing arts, computer science and programming, and much more. The students at St. Johnsbury Academy are friendly, open and encouraging, and welcoming to the students in the boarding program. The diversity of the campus is quite vast, with students from all over the world in every classroom. The teachers, faculty and staff here are extremely supportive of their students, and truly care about every one. The support programs for the students here are wonderful. In Colby Hall, a Learning Center is open before, during, and after school to help students who are struggling with homework, test prep, class material, etc. The athletics program here is extremely prided upon, and definitely one of the greatest values of the Academy. I've always had good and positive experiences at St. Johnsbury Academy.

I transferred to the Saint Johnsbury Academy midway through my freshmen year, striving to attend a high school with a diverse student-body, greater creative opportunities, and strong academics.
What I received from my experience here has far surpassed any expectation I had.
Although I have had my rough patches, and negative experiences, the passion of the teachers, and students alike, have contributed in making one of the most memorable high school experiences I could ask for.
As a student with a passion for the arts, (music, theatre, etc.), the St. Johnsbury Academy has provided me with training I would've thought unheard of in this area of the State. From a creative, and large group of talented actors and wonderful theatre productions, to a dance instructor who has worked professionally her whole life, every ounce of artistic training I have received has benefitted me, and my journey on-ward. I feel lucky to have gone to the St. Johnsbury Academy!
I'm a rising sophomore at SJA, and so far I'm very pleased with my experience at the academy. I love the amount of school spirit from the student body, I love the campus, and I appreciate the level of diversity in a rural, Vermont town. I also really appreciate that we have a gym, cafeteria, and library on campus.
That's not something you get with any other Vermont school. Also, I'm really impressed by how professional the student body is. That aside, it's my impression that the faculty and staff don't care about the safety and well being of the students. I understand that that's a great generalization and each staff is different, but several of my friends have been in unsafe situations and not gotten any help when they reached out. I won't name any names, but it's my impression that the higher-ups are more concerned about their image than they are about the student's safety. I've also had my fair share of bad teachers, but that's to be expected.
