I have had an excellent experience at St. John’s Prep. Although I have experienced many challenges, the school has done an excellent job in preparing me for college. Additionally, I have felt that the school guides its students every step of the way, which instills a sense of confidence in all of us.
The school culture is great. Although we are a sports powerhouse, the school does a good job at promoting other aspects of student involvement, such as drama productions. While the racial/ethnic diversity isn’t great, SJP is richly diverse in terms of interests and personalities, which ensures that there is a place for everyone to fit in.

Saint John's Prep is a school dedicated to developing resilient, responsible, intellectual, servant leaders. Integral to this mission is instilling of the five Xaverian values: simplicity, compassion, zeal, humility, and trust over a Prep student's four years. Personally, the Prep opened doors I never would have walked through on my own. For example, I was fortunate enough to spend a summer in the MIT Beaverworks program because one of my teachers, Mr. Smith, thought it was an amazing opportunity and brought in a program representative to speak with us. The Prep is not simply a school, though that may be its espoused purpose, it is - at its core - a promise: no matter who you are coming in, you will be capable, self possessed, confident, and above all Good on your way out. There's not another school in the world I would choose to spend my high school years at; the Prep has my utmost respect.
I have received a top-notch education from some of the most dedicated teachers and staff that are committed to providing our community with the tools we need to not move on to the next phase of life. Our school's Xaverian values of Humility, Simplicity, Compassion, Trust, and Zeal have been incorporated into every aspect of our development. I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to be part of St. John's Prep. I not only feel ready for college but for all of life's challenges that lie ahead. St. John's has given me knowledge as well as trusted relationships with peers and mentors that will stay with me for a lifetime.
