St. John's Parish Day School Reviews

My children have thrived in every way since coming to SJ this year. They look forward to going to school every day and even enjoy completing homework! My children love every teacher and staff member & my 5th grader enjoys reading and writing again and believes that the teachers genuinely seem to like kids. There are no educational disruptions. The teachers place an emphasis on the basics plus spelling, social science, science & and even handwriting, as well as wonderful related arts classes that include strings and Spanish! They include SEL through morning meetings and chapel. SJ encourages leadership, independence, kindness - every quality that a parent would want a school to help instill in a child.

I highly recommend SJPDS to anyone who believes their child's current educational placement isn't serving them in the best way possible. SJ has been the best educational decision we have made for our children and has been completely worth the financial investment.

Hats Off to SJPDS! In a period of uncertainty it is a gift to be able to continue to rely on the outstanding efforts of my child's school! I am grateful not only for the incredible distance learning but for the ongoing & unparalleled commitment to their students' overall well-being/something I treasure always but particularly now. Zoom classes include both academic as well as social opportunities. Videos demonstrate lessons, projects & book-reading.Children virtually meet with not just their classroom teachers but with "specialist" teachers as well. Chapels & assemblies are hosted throughout the week. A feeling of ongoing community & education has seamlessly prevailed. The school's mission to educate a diverse community of children with a stimulating curriculum in a safe & nurturing environment while providing them tools to rise to their full potential, is what brought us to SJPDS. Witnessing their unconditional & expert implementation of it is what keeps us there!
I am a SJPDS alumni who just finished high school and is heading off to a great college in the fall! I can confidently say that my elementary education at SJPDS set me up so well for all my success in middle and high school. The small community allowed me to have a hands on, personalized education. I got extra attention is areas I needed it, and the strengths I already had were strengthened. The small community, hands on approach, individual attention, and great relationships with teachers prepared me to enter a larger middle and high school with a skill set that was much stronger than my peers at my new school. My writing skills in particular were strengthened at St. John’s, and I continued on to have extreme success in all my english classes, frequently receiving comments from teachers expressing that my writing skills were so advanced and developed. I’m confident that attending SJPDS gave me the skill sets I needed to be extremely successful in MS and HS and recommend it to all.
