St. Isaac Jogues Elementary School Reviews

2 reviews
We love St. Isaac Jogues school. We moved over from the public school system over a year ago and couldn't be more pleased. The academic standards are high, and the teachers support the students on every level. My kids progressed much faster in their literacy skills here, and they actually learned grammar from the get-go....something I felt was lacking in the public schools. We feel that the school holds our kids more accountable; the kids feel a greater responsibility for their learning. The families are wonderful. They come from diverse backgrounds but all share the same goal of wanting our children to be in a faith-filled environment. I love how our children pray together multiple times a day and go to mass together once a week. The love coming out of this school is palpable. We really feel part of a family here.

If you are a typical Hinsdale person whose family has inherited money for generations and never worked a day in their lives, then you will fit in just fine at this school. Otherwise, you will be bombarded with a myriad of judgement and displeasant feelings on a daily basis. The style of teaching and communicating in this school is at least 100 years outdated, and the teachers often cross the line of what is appropriate to say to a student under the guise of discipline. The children also are very intolerant and exclusive in their friend groups and many times have I seen cruel treatment to those who are different both by the students and the faculty as well. I did not enjoy my experience at this school and would a thousand times discourage anyone to go here who does not fit the typical rich, judgemental and closeminded criteria it takes to blend in at this school.
