This school is expanding, a great place to learn and is diverse. Sports and band are offered, the teachers are always willing to help and the staff are simply amazing people. I love being a part of this school district.
The administrators at this school are not effective leaders. They are bound to uphold an "image" that is not reality. Please do your research and look at the latest school report card from the state. Only 16 percent of 6th graders are reading at grade level.
St. George offers a wonderful atmosphere to learn and excel in academics and socially. My oldest child felt well prepared for high school, socially and academically. My youngest son was Dx with a learning disability and I have not had any problems getting the services he needs to achieve. We feel blessed to be apart of this accepting and loving environment.
Great school with amazing teachers that communicate very well with parents and students. The PTO is always coming up with wonderful activities for the students and families. They also have a great selection of both sports and academic extra curricular activities for the students to participate in.
All 5 of our children have attended St. George. We love the school, teachers and administration. Our youngest required speech therapy and the speech therapist was amazing. He made huge strides!! The school has a very close family feeling and everyone feels welcome. From an academic perspective our children received a solid education and were well prepared for high school and college. Two of our children who are in college regularly return to visit their former teachers.
I love St. George School! It's a small community feel school, with high expectations. The teachers are positive role models and work diligently to achieve success from all students. The parents support the school as viewed from the recent pass of the School Referendum. And the Administration is knowledgable of all the students, Illinois State Rules, and always strive for excellence. I am so proud to call St. George my child's school.
We’ve had nothing but great experiences at St. George, like any other school you should always be an advocate for your child shall they need the extra help. My son has struggled in comprehension with reading and the school has gone above and beyond helping him learn new ways to help him get through his struggles. Also, teaching doesn’t stop at school it’s brought home where we should continue to help and support our children in their school work so they continue to learn outside of school.
Teachers and past staff have talked about how bad the administration is at this school. Since we have attended, we have seen this type of poor management first hand. The administration takes a wait to see if they will fail approach before applying effective interventions (reading in our case) If you are not on top of this school, they will not help your child.
