Scouting, math club, chess club, running clubs, basketball, cheerleading, etc - there is so much to choose from.
The handbook is distributed once a year and each family needs to review it and sign off they have reviewed it with their children prior to the school year starting. Teachers and administrators are firm but caring in their disciplinary actions. I support them 100%.
I don't know enough about the other schools in the state to rank, but I'm so impressed with what I've seen. They have resources for all types of learners and are consistently evolving their process' and procedures to better educate our children.
The school nurse is there everyday, unlike many schools in the public system. She is caring and communicative with parents. The safety measures at this school are great. All the doors are locked at all times, if you get in the front door, you still can't get to students. If you get in the back door, you will get locked in the stairwell. I feel much better about my children's safety at school compared to other schools I have visited.
There are so many activities for students to participate in outside of school. Aside from school clubs, the PTO has many events throughout the year for not only the students, but the whole family. Movie nights, tailgates, family dinner nights to name a few.
From academics to extra-curriculars, this school has it all. My son has been thriving at St. Gabe's, between supportive and caring teachers/support staff to so many different clubs/activities that there is truly something for everyone. They have helped my son thrive academically, spiritually, socially & emotionally and have only fueled his love of learning. The PTO is very active and there are ways for everyone to participate. They have set the bar very high in the community, I can't see being as happy in any other school.
