St. Francis Preparatory School Reviews
Rating 4.29 out of 5 549 reviews
I recently graduated from St. Francis Preparatory as part of the class of 2021. Although high school is a time filled with development and growth, I can say my time at this school was stellar. Not only was I more than adequately prepared for my time in college but I was also thankful for the connections I have made during my time in high school. I attended this school for four years which were filled with happiness and laughter. I made many connections with my peers and teachers that will last me a lifetime. I met my best friend Julie at this school in 2018 and I would never have met her if it weren’t for us being placed in the same Cor class. Cor was our version of homeroom since Cor means heart in Latin. I vividly remember my Cor class walking in the annual St. Francis Preparatory Walk-A-Thon every year to raise money for future generations of students at the school. As a current junior at Penn State University, I can proudly say high school is four years, but Prep is forever!
I had a great experience at St. Francis Prep. What I loved most is the large course selection available and the many different clubs. This school has given me the opportunity to take courses such as Forensic Science, AP Psychology, Astronomy, and Video Game design. Also, we have a wide selection for physical fitness and I have been introduced to Yoga and Tai Chi, which I absolutely love. My favorite clubs are Model UN and St. Francis Prep TV. The only downfall of this school is the mandatory requirement of wearing uniforms - only pants!
I love the fact that anyone can find their own social group in this school, and that there are so many clubs for students to explore their interests or even create their own club like I did! I also enjoyed the fact that people of all academic abilities and ambitions learn in the same school, and while nearly all students graduate with academic success, some reach further than others. While it is a Catholic school, I did feel like some of the religion and gym classes would have been better spent as free periods at times, but there were still some i found very interesting or useful. I loved my overall experience here, and many of the dedicated teachers teaching interesting classes within it!
