We highly recommend St. Francis of Assisi (SFA), where our children went. Principal Mary Carter is phenomenal and truly cares about each and every student and family, and guides all things though her strong Faith. She is open to parent feedback and works with families to help make the school experience the best possible.
Core values of this school include the Stewardship Way of Life. Families are encouraged to get involved, and it was my honor to serve on School Council, Home and School Association (PTO) and other committees. I saw first hand true Catholics living their Faith day in and day out trying their best to make the school even better.
Academics are a key focus with students testing consistently above state averages. SFA has been a “Capturing Kid’s Hearts” award winner numerous times. My kids were blessed to have some of the best teachers around who still support them in high school.
It was one of the best parenting decisions we made to send our kids here. GO VIKINGS!

The staff (admin, teachers, office, food service and maintenance staff) truly care about students and know each student personally. They want everyone to succeed and work hard to offer support. I have one student currently attending SFA and one who has graduated. There were no concerns about the transition into high school- very prepared academically, spiritually and socially to continue to grow. We feel blessed to be part of such a strong school family! Go Vikings!
One of the best decisions we’ve made as parents was to send our kids to St. Francis Catholic School in Wichita. First and foremost, the school has a true focus on Catholic teachings, and is closely integrated with the church. Education is excellent, and test scores consistently are above average for Kansas public schools. Vast majority of the staff are practicing Catholics who live their Faith daily. The campus is a bit old, but some major improvement projects are currently underway.
If you are considering sending your kids to Saint Francis, I strongly encourage you to go visit and talk to a few people yourself.
