My experience at Saint Francis was very good. The academics, athletics, campus, religious aspect, and style of the Silicon Valley are what makes this school unique.
Academics: the school offers plenty of honors and AP classes, and elective courses geared towards STEM, music, religion, and arts which are taught by nice and approachable teachers.
Athletics: highly competitive sports led by very experienced coaches. For boys sports they are in the upper edge in WCAL division, rivaling BCP and AMHS, and girls are consistently extremely good, if not, the best.
Campus: new and well maintained classrooms and athletic facilities, a high school that feels like a junior college.
Religion: a Catholic school rooted in Holy Cross, students learn to bring hope, respect others, inspire integrity, and celebrate family.
The student and faculty bodies are predominantly white but the school has welcomed and encouraged diversity through affinity groups (BSU, Fil-Am, Latinx, and Pride to name a few).

I have attended Saint Francis for one semester and so far I’ve had a great time! The school is a welcoming and friendly environment that makes me feel safe to find a path for myself. We have more than fifty clubs and committees, our sports teams are top-notch, and the school curriculum is college-level. Our campus is absolutely gorgeous and the cafeteria food is so good! We make sure to clean up after ourselves because a clean campus is a reflection of how we take pride in our school. I believe the school should work on diversity and celebrating different cultures. I believe the school can do more to bring out diversity in their student body. If you plan on applying here, be aware that the application process is very selective (interviews, high test scores, 3.5+ GPA) and less than 30% get in. They look for students who want to contribute to their community and bring good change to the world. Overall, this school is amazing and I am proud to be a lancer!
Amazing school! This school has everything one could want in a high school. I’m genuinely surprised at the criticisms given and will address them in my review.
1.) There have been multiple reviews about the teachers being hit-or-miss or just being really bad in general. In my experience, this couldn’t be further from the truth. All of my teachers cared about each of their students and if I were to rate each teacher out of 5, no teacher would fall below a 3, and that’s being harsh (most will fall in the 3.5-4 range).
2.) Regarding diversity issues, as a person-of-color, I have felt no problems at this school; however, I am not black or hispanic so experiences may differ.
3.) Sure, the food may not be amazing, but that’s a universal school problem and shouldn’t be a reason for not coming here (but the ice-cream is really good).
I am glad I made the decision to come here and I hope others do the same!
