I love the diversity of our school, and it's something you won't find in other school in the city. The teachers know my kids so well. They treat them like family members, which sounds cliche but is true. They have very high standards for kids in the classrooms but they teach kids how to maintain that level of rigor in an enjoyable way that does not cause them undue anxiety. My kids are learning how to balance their academics, sports, outside activities, and fun with their friends in a way that I envy! Most importantly though, everyone in school reinforces the messages about kindness, consideration, empathy, and respect for differences that we're telling them at home. This was something notably missing from our public school experience and, in my opinion, is worth the financial sacrifice to send them to this school. Choosing this school will likely go down as one of the best decisions I've made for them in their lives. It's a very special place.

I've so enjoyed working at St. Edmund's! In addition to the community being very welcoming, I appreciate that the Faculty and Staff hold themselves to high standards in their work. We are respected as professionals and colleagues. Support for professional development is high, and the school is continuously improving as a result.
St. Edmund's Academy was the only choice for my son when choosing a private school. Aside from the rigorous academic curriculum, SEA has diversity and inclusivity that is unmatched by any Pittsburgh-area private school. In addition, SEA's Core Values, which are at the center in everything they do, teaches students how to be positive and productive members of a community. Having academic achievement is good, but what really makes a person great is if they can translate their knowledge into something positive for the world. Treating people with kindness is just as important as having a strong academic record. The children of SEA are brilliant AND polite AND accepting of others and new ideas. So, my son while learning will also utilize the morals and ethics and values that I teach at home because SEA is making sure those morals, ethics, and values are being taught during the day as well.
