I transferred to SDA at the beginning of my junior year and I have no regrets! Not only have I made amazing friends, but I've had many great teachers as well. I was mostly in honors and AP classes and I feel that my teachers have done a great job preparing me for college. It is also super easy and fun to get involved in clubs and sports within the school! If SDA is on your high school list, definitely consider it!
Saint Dominic Academy gave me the opportunity to meet some of my 'best-est' friends and I cannot complain at all. Academics were very engaging (honors and AP's) but nothing extremely hard. Throughout my years, there has been a huge change in the administration and the staff is better than it was before. However, the changes were so drastic my junior year that I felt extremely overwhelmed.
I was involved in various clubs at SDA and took many honors and AP classes.
One bad thing is the favoritism which is really pronounced in the school. A few teachers will be lenient with those they like and a bit unfair with those they don't.
I am also upset by the lack of diversity of the school. While there are people-of-color attending, it is a small portion. It honestly makes no sense because Jersey City IS the most diversity city in New Jersey. There is not a single black teacher and only 3-4 (teachers or staff) MAX, were of color. The school needs to work more on representation.

Saint Dominic Academy was amazing, the education continued far beyond the classrooms. It is filled with tradition, honor, and love! I had a great group of friends and at Saint Dominic, the faculty put the students above all and made it extremely easy to learn and enjoy it at the same time.
