St. Croix Lutheran Academy Reviews
Rating 4.23 out of 5 81 reviews
St. Croix prepared me academically, physically, and spiritually for college and my future. The teachers are passionate about their students' success and were always willing to set time aside to help. There are amazing opportunities to grow in sports and the arts, especially with the newly renovated facilities. One unique thing about St. Croix that stuck out to me was the global perspective that this school had, and its exposure to different cultures through the international students that attended. I was able to make friends with students from all over the world, and am still in contact with them to this day. One downside is the financial cost, but it is worth it for the quality of education and guidance given here.
I was able to excel in my future, physically, academically, and spiritually. Due to the wide range of students, we have from different countries I got the pleasure to learn about many new cultures. The music program is very advanced for a smaller private school and was able to help me reach many of my personal music goals. I was also able to participate in golf and volleyball at a high level.
The school is very cliquey. There is the rich popular clique and the "called worker" or pastor/teach kids who get selected first for extracurricular. Teachers turn a blind eye to what they do and will interact with them in classroom. They can do the same behavior as someone else but not get disciplined and that is in the classroom/study hall or on the sports field/court but the kids who are not in one of those categories get disciplined. The teachers use the same ineffective techniques and ways to teach year after year and parents have complained in the past and nothing seems to be done to address. In chapel, they pray for the rich and popular kids and other kids are ignored. The academic dean wants to control things but doesn't respond to student's emails. Rules were put in place about the honors choir but not enforced and it is mainly pastors and teachers kids in it. There seem to be two standards at the school. Maybe with the school remodel will be a culture remodel.
