My experience at St. Charles Catholic High School was indifferent. Educationally, I respect the programs and methods our faculty and staff attempt to pursue. However, only few teachers put forth their greatest efforts. Though everyone is respectable, the lack of classroom management makes it difficult for some students to be attentive in class. I have learned much about myself here, however. The faith aspect is strong, and I my relationship with God has grown strong. With quarantine, I have learned to focus on my personal growth and focus on my academic developments immensely. I have become a more independent person from my years at St. Charles.
St. Charles Catholic High School is a great school to prepare students for college academically. BUT students are not educated about the real world. Students are offered NO help with preparing for college. They are not told anything about scholarships, college applications, or any other important tools to be successful in school. It is good for a small town feel. Everyone knows everyone in the school, and it feels like one big family. It has a very competitive nature. The honors students purposely hide their knowledge from each other in an effort to get ahead, rather than helping each other. Overall, there is a great English and Math department. Most teachers are extremely knowledgable and dedicated to student success.
As a private school, you will get exactly what you pay for in terms of education. It's better than public school, that's for sure, with a huge emphasis in sports and extracuricular activities. Being a Catholic school, it would seem that religion plays a huge role in the system, but it honestly does not. More power is given to the school football program than to the actual education system, as is apparent in most high schools.
