St. Cecilia Academy is an amazing place for girls who want to grow academically and spiritually! My personal favorite thing about St. Cecilia is that the administration and the teachers help us inside and outside of the classroom. St. Cecilia girls are smart, outspoken, kind, and loving. In order to graduate from St. Cecilia, the girls are required to complete service hours and pursue internships around the country. There are also travel opportunities such as studying abroad and helping children in Haiti. The community is loving and caring, and there is a great emphasis on faith. It is an accepting environment for all types of girls, no matter the race, sexuality, or financial background.

The administration does not interact well with the students, however the teachers are very helpful and are usually great advocates for their students. The overall community is close with one another. This makes for a good support system yet a group who judges quickly and information tends to spread rapidly. The facilities are sub par with the exception being the new fine arts buildings. The rest of the school has not been redone (and it is extremely obvious). Overall the school has great academics and succeeds at preparing young women for college, but there are issues in the leadership which makes the high school experience less enjoyable and more stressful.
I graduated from St. Cecilia Academy last year and had a wonderful experience. I felt so much love not only from my fellow classmates, but the faculty and staff. Although the diversity rate is low, as an African-American student I never felt singled out or alone because of my race and made friends of all different races. I was accepted for who I was and got to flourish in this environment. SCA prepared me so well for college, I made all As last semester and even got accepted into the honors college at my university. This school has the best mix; academics, faith, and fun. If you have the opportunity to go here, go! You won't regret it. I am the person I am today because of this place.
