St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School Reviews
Rating 5 out of 5 5 reviews
St. Catherine's focuses on nurturing the entire child, not just the scholastic or the spiritual side. Further, it embraces the feeling of family. It's about being part of something bigger than just a place where children go to learn. It's a place that offers challenging academics that are anchored in the tradition of the Catholic faith. It's a place with a very special differentiator - the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia. It's a place where the main focus of every staff member is to develop the entire child - academically, spiritually, and emotionally. It's a very special place where, to borrow a tag line from The Olive Garden - "When you're here, you're family". So for all of the parents out there thinking about schools right now, I would just like to say that it would be a blessing to have you become a member of our St. Catherine's family.
St. Catherine's is a great school and we are lucky to be close by. The school is run by the Dominican Sisters (the Principal is a nun) and has a strong Catholic identity. St Catherine's is actually the youngest Catholic elementary school in the diocese and has been growing. Our children are in the younger grades and we have seen strong academics with the school and a focus on the entire family. Many events are for both students, parents and siblings. The staff is friendly and the current pastor and principal are very involved in the school. In you are close, reach out and say you are interested and the school can likely talk to you about other activities and tuition if needed. We wanted our children to go to a Catholic school and St Catherine's definitely delivers.
We have been at this school for 8 years and have to say we are so happy. I believe this is the last school in the Atlanta area that has Sisters/Nuns in the Classroom, and that was a big reason i chose this school over others that were closer to my home. From my own upbringing i know how important it is for the students to witness the strong moral messages of a great catholic school. The academics are also very strong with high test scores and kids going on to many of the Magnet High Schools (as will my child). The school allows kids to focus on success today and shows them how to be ready for high school.
Absolutely love the principal and the teachers who show a real passion for what they do and do it very well. The advance math and science program was also very important for me. Highly recommend this school everyone – I know that non-Catholics are welcomed.
